On january 11, 1991, in Lithuania a non-violent revolution started to defend our freedom from Soviet Union. Soviet troops had intention to take Press Palace, TV Tower, Parliament, but thousands of unarmed people gathered around made a human shield for protection. One parliament's defenders words were "The intention was not to win, because we all knew that this was impossible; the intention was to die, but by doing so to make sure that Moscow couldn’t tell any lies as they did in 1940. To make sure that the whole world knew that Lithuania was prepared to fight for her freedom. We chose truth to be our ultimate weapon." Soviet tanks drove through the peaceful croud, crushed the victims and shot to death. Hundreds of innocent and unarmed people were injuried, 14 died when troops attacked TV Tower of Vilnius. Lithuania had reestablished the freedom in 1990, but in the begining of 1991 Moscow wanted to regain power. They failed and Lithuania was recognized worldwide as independend country.
I was a little girl by that time but still I remember so well the terrible feeling when it all was hapening in Vilnius. Today is exactly 30 years of that day, and here I'm proudly wearing my lithuanian flag pendant I made myself some time ago. I am a proud Lithuanian woman 🇱🇹

I've got to make this hanger for my studio, it came out pretty well! Love the way it keeps my #metalsmithsociety apron 🤗
In the last months I've got to put my hands on some wood working, and I loved it. It feels nice in the hands, the wood is a warm, soft material, easy to shape. But differently from metal, once you make a mistake it can't be undone, as in metalsmithing.

My work year has ended 🎉🥳 Congratulations to me 😄 Won't be working on jewelry or hair piece till next year, so I think it's a great opportunity to post something from my past works. Instead, I'll be pushing my skilz in doing things I've never done before, like making stuff for the house (we moved in like 6 months ago and still need a coat hanger 🙈... And it's all because I said "no, we won't buy it, we'll make it with our own hands", so, here we are ... 🤷‍♀️😂). If we succeed, I'll share WIP pics in my stories 😉

Every Shark piece starts with this. I draw it by free hand on silver sheet, once I'm satisfied enough with my art I start sawing it out. Not always my art on silver sheet comes out perfect 😅 so I try and try and try again. With such small details (and with any size details) I anyways prefer drawing directly on silver, instead of sticking a paper drawing on it 🤷‍♀️ (Maybe one day I'll try that technique)

This is kind of a message I'd like to send to everyone, a reminder, to be kind with each other, always. A customer asked to make these rings, will be gifts for Christmas.
While I am being a little off the instagram, I am still working (a lot) on accessories and lately so much more on these stamped message rings. Words have a lot of power, and having your favorite quote always with you can give you relief, strengh, power not give up, and maybe, be kind. Always.
